Silver Package

 

This college planning package is for families who want a strong foundation and strategic guidance in the college application process that will lead to them feeling comfortable completing applications and writing required essays on their own. This package is excellent for families who just need a little help getting the college application process off the ground. It is also great for families that have more time to invest in this process.​

Our “Basic Package” includes all the following college planning services:

  • One-on-one essay brainstorm session

  • One-on-one essay outline development

  • 3 Essay edits and reviews

  • Build a list of best-fit colleges (up to 6)

Gold Package 

 

This college planning package is for families who want strong guidance in every aspect of the college selection and application process. Our priority at Kimmins Consulting is to find the “right fit” between the student’s needs and preferences and the offerings of colleges and universities. This package is excellent for the family seeking merit-based scholarships to reduce the cost of their student’s college education.

 

Our “Gold Package” includes all the college planning services in the “Silver Package,” plus the following:

Platinum Package

This college planning service takes the most holistic approach and best suits students aiming for the most competitive colleges and universities in the US. It is also perfect for families simply desiring an extra level of personalized guidance. Students receive additional substantive strategic guidance on how to improve the likelihood of admission and in other areas such as supplements, communications with colleges, career exposure, and interviews to improve chances of admission.

Most notably, this package of Kimmins Consulting provides assistance with a larger number of essays and writing supplements. These supplements are key differentiating factors in the applications to the most competitive institutions.

The Platinum Package includes all the college planning services in the “Gold Package,” plus the following:

College is a great option after high school. However, not all students graduate in a 4 to 6 year time span. College is a major investment of your time and resources, and it starts in high school. Therefore, it is important to know if College Right for You?

Essay Workshop

 

Often considered the most daunting part of the college application, the required essays and personal statements are one of the most critical components. Without proper guidance, students often choose to write essays that lack passion and do not reveal who they are.

Managing Recommendations

 

Colleges want to know how others view you, your reputation. A great recommendation could improve your chances, but a poor recommendation can be harmful. We will also discuss strategies students can use to have teachers better aware of their accomplishments which will lead to a stronger recommendation.

Is my GPA High Enough?

 

At one point, only the grade you earned in a class mattered. Now, the type of class is now a big part of this equation. Is it better to take AP or IB? These are just two of the factors that is considered when colleges review transcripts.

The College Visit

 

College visits are used by students to get a fuller picture of what a college has to offer. However, if your only goal of a college visit is academic in nature, you are making a huge mistake. Money, Money, Money: Paying for College

 

There is a misconception that scholarship money is available for everyone. Some believe that the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) will cover all the cost associated with college. If paying for college is a concern for you and your family, it is important that you understand the financial aid process and what it takes to get a scholarship.
